Parks and Playgrounds in Canton Community

Bend in River Park:

Located at the end of Lincoln street next to the Canton Pavilion. This park has numerous barbecue grills, a picnic shelter, lighted softball field, paved walkways, volleyball and basketball areas and a scenic waterfront. The picnic shelter and softball field can be reserved. Rental Rates are as follows:

Picnic Shelter:

  • Town & Village of Canton Residents     $30 fee & $40 deposit
  • Non-Canton Residents   0-25 persons     $50 fee & $50 deposit
  • 26-50 persons     $60 fee & $60 deposit
  • 51-75 persons     $75 fee & $75 deposit
  • 76-199 persons   $100 fee & $100 deposit
  • 200 plus persons   $150 fee & $150 deposit

Deposits are returned if there is no damage or cleaning after the rental group has finished use of shelter.

Pavilion Building:

For events such as dog show, trade fairs, flea markets, circus, tool shows etc… for profit groups $400/day. Not for profits $150/day.

For Sporting events: Box LaCrosse, Soccer, Roller Hockey etc.. $30/hour. If event is charging a fee $30/hour & 10% of gate.

Riley Community Room:

Dances, Dinners, receptions etc.. $100 fee & $100 dep
Meetings for non Canton groups: $35 fee $35 dep.
Canton Groups charging a fee or birthday parties, etc.. $25 fee & $25 cleaning deposit. Non exclusive use of the room for 2.5hours. Long term groups up to 4 hours/day.
Public Skating birthday special $30 fee & $25 dep non exclusive use of the room for 2.5 hours and unlimited number of skaters during public skating session. Rental skates are additional $3/pair.
Canton not for profit & citizen groups, SLFSC & CPW etc. for meetings no fee.

Softball Field with Lights:

Softball field can be reserved for tournaments or individual use subject to availability. If you need to use the lights there is a $25/hour charge paid in advance.

Taylor Park Community Beach:

Is located on the Miner street road approx. 2 miles from Main Street. Waterfront hours are mid June through the end of August 10 am – 8 pm seven days per week. Taylor Park has change rooms, softball area, playground and picnic areas. All picnic areas are on a first come first serve basis.

Picnic shelter can be reserved. Rental rates are the same as the ones listed for the Bend in River Park Shelter.
Single Kayak rentals are available for $5 per hour, double Kayak and Paddle Boat is $10 per hour. Rentals are from 10:30 am – 6:30 pm.

Fee for non Canton organizations such as Dekalb & Hermon Recreation groups BOCES etc. $50/day.

Canton Village Green:

Located in the heart of downtown Canton. The village green has paved walkways, old style water fountain, drinking fountains and park benches. Home of the Canton Farmers Market on Tuesday & Fridays.

Willow Island Park:

Located on West Main Street between the twin bridges in downtown Canton. This park has picnic areas and barbecue grills used on a first come first serve basis.

Monsignor Billmeyer Playground:

Located at Canton Central School on State Street. This large wooden structure playground has swings, slides & and lots of climbing areas. Picnic tables and a gazebo are provided.

Priest Field:

Located off of Judson Street has a small playground,  and lots of green to throw a Frisbee or softball.

Buck Street Playground:

Located on the corner of Buck Street and Lincoln Street. This playground has swings, slides, merry go-rounds, and monkey bars.

Remington Recreation Trail:

Surrounding the Partridge Run golf & Country Club. This 5k paved fitness trail is designed for bicycles, roller blades, walking, jogging or cross country skiing. This trail was designed for 12 month enjoyment.
