Canton is fortunate to have two institutions of higher learning.  St. Lawrence University is located at in the village on a beautiful 1,000-acre campus with many buildings featuring interesting architecture.  SUNY Canton is located just west of the Village of Canton on a 555-acre campus next to the Grasse River.
